Connor Medbery of Loveland, CO won the 215lbs. division of the 2008 Cadet
Freestyle Nationals held in Fargo, North Dakota this past July. Medbery won
in style with a big victory in the finals over Joshua Davis of New Jersey by
scores of 2-2, 6-2, and 7-1 in the third period. Connor had a chance to be
Colorado's first double winner at the USAW Cadet Nationals, but lost a very
close match to Michael Sojka of Illinois in the finals of the Greco Roman
competition.

Medbery was 3rd in the 2008 Colorado High School Championships this past
season at 215lbs for Loveland High School, and returns this year as a
sophomore with a chance to become a 3 time Colorado State champion.

Connor Medbery has wrestled in the Excel Program for the past six years at
the North Denver location. He becomes the 3rd Excel wrestler to win a Fargo
National Championship. Tony Mustari, 2003 Freestyle Champion, Tyler Graff,
2005 Freestyle Champion, Tony Mustari, 2005 Freestyle Champion, Connor
Medbery, 2008 Freestyle Champion. Overall, Excel wrestlers have claimed
High School All American status at the Fargo Nationals more than 30 times.
