Coach

Steve Knight enters his 15^th season as Team Excel Head Coach and Executive Director.  He now heads up the new Iowa Excel Year Round Training Program in the Greater Des Moines area.  Knight has served on the US Olympic Coaching staff, as well as coaching on both US World Cup and Pan Am teams.  He has coached in two World Championships and been a member of the US National Teams staff for over a decade working with athletes at the US Olympic Training Center.  Steve was a US Pan American Gold Medalist, Iowa State NCAA All American and several time National Freestyle All American.   He resides in Urbandale, IA.

Coach

Ty Knowler will be working with our Iowa Excel Program this year. Ty had an outstanding high school career for Southeast Polk High School as a 3 x Iowa State place finisher. He has gone on to wrestle for Grand View University in Des Moines. This past season for the Vikings, he was an NAIA National Qualifier and looks to be back in the Grand View lineup this season at 165lbs. Ty has also worked with Coach Knight during the summer camp series of Excel Wrestling.
